Summary Of DutiesPassengers will be assisted in the movement of their personal luggage or parcels within this station or station facilities.

Essential Functions

• Provide wheelchair service for disabled and/or handicapped passengers
• Provide arm assistance to blind individuals to and from the trains
• Conversant with the procedure governing the issuance of Red Cap Check NRPC Form 313

Minimum Qualifications

• Employee must conform to Amtrak’s Standards of Excellence and prescribed code of dress
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be fully capable of operating commercial vehicles and mechanized equipment
• Must have a valid Operator’s license

Preferred Qualifications & Work Environment

• Two (2) years of college or business equivalent
• Two (2) years’ experience in a service-oriented position

Communication And Interpersonal Skills

• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The hourly range is $18.89-$25.18 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
