How to get the Secret Service Armor in Fallout 76
To get the Secret Service Armor you first need to learn the crafting plans. After you’ve learned the plans, you can start crafting the pieces of the Secret Service Armor.
Where to Buy Secret Service Armor Plans
The plans for the Secret Service Armor pieces can be bought in the following two places:
- Reginald “Regs” Stone is selling the Secret Service Armor plans in Vault 79 after you finish the Wastelanders’ main story quest starting with Wayward Souls. Use our Fallout 76 Interactive Map to find Vault 79 easily.
- Minerva sells the plans in some of her sales. See when the plans are available and where to find Minerva in Fallout 76.
The plans are sold for Gold Bullion. After learning a plan you can craft the pieces and they start dropping (rarely) from event rewards. They can never be dropped by enemies though.
These are the Gold Bullion prices for the Secret Service Armor plans depending on whether you buy them from Regs or Minerva:
Plan | Price (Regs) | Price (Minerva) |
---|---|---|
Helmet * | 1,650 | 1,238 |
Chest | 1,250 | 938 |
Left Arm | 750 | 563 |
Right Arm | 750 | 563 |
Left Leg | 750 | 563 |
Right Leg | 750 | 563 |
Total Price | 5,900 | 4,428 |
* To unlock the bonus of the legendary Perk Cards Sizzling Style or Funky Duds you don’t need the helmet or Underarmor. Helmets can’t have legendary effects either, so it is recommended that new players save their Gold Bullion and not buy the plan for the helmet.
How to Craft the Secret Service Armor
After purchasing and learning the plans, you can start crafting the pieces of the Secret Service Armor at an Armor workbench. Each craft costs 1 Legendary Module. Legendary Modules can be bought for 50 Scrip each from Purveyor Murmrgh in Rusty Pick.
You can see the crafting costs for level 50 Secret Service Armor pieces in the following table:
Materials | Chest | Leg | Arm | Helmet |
---|---|---|---|---|
Adhesive | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
Leather | 4 | 2 | 2 | 1 |
Legendary Module | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
Plastic | 13 | 8 | 6 | 3 |
Rubber | 5 | 2 | 2 | 1 |
Steel | 17 | 12 | 10 | 5 |
Crafted Secret Service Armor pieces are always legendary. The number of stars and legendary effects you get are random.
You can scrip pieces you don’t want at a Legendary Exchange Machine to get Scrip back. You can’t trade pieces with other players, sell them to vendors, or drop them.
Best Mods for the Secret Service Armor (Material)
The best Material mod for Secret Service Armor is Buttressed. Buttressed provides the highest stats out of the 4 options. You can buy the plan for 500 Gold Bullion from Regs or check the Minerva sales. Whenever Minerva sells the plan, you can buy it for 400 Gold Bullion from her. The other 3 options (Welded, Tempered, and Hardened) are weaker than Buttressed.
In addition to the material mod slot, each armor piece has a miscellaneous mod slot. While the Material slot always increases the resistance of your armor, the miscellaneous slot has more different options.
Best Mods for the Secret Service Armor (Miscellaneous)
The best miscellaneous mod for most players is the “Ultra-light build” mod for legs and arms. For chest pieces, the Jet Pack is preferred by most players for its utility. This is especially true for non-melee builds, like the popular Fallout 76 Commando builds.
But overall the miscellaneous mod slot is not as straightforward as the material slot and you can pick the mods you prefer for your playtyle. In the tables below you can find all available mods for the different pieces of your Secret Service Armor in Fallout 76.

Can I trade the Secret Service Armor in Fo76?
You can’t trade or drop the plans or pieces of the Secret Service Armor. You need to buy the plans with Gold Bullion from Monerva or Regs, and you need to craft the pieces of this armor set yourself.
How Much Gold Bullion For The Full Secret Service Armo Set?
To buy the plans for all Sercret Armor Pieces from Regs you need to pay 5,900 Gold Bullion. If you buy the plans from Minerva, you only need to pay 4,428 Gold Bullion. The downside is, that you have to wait for Minerva to have the plans in her inventory.
If you skip the helmet, which is what we recommend, you need 4,250 Gold Bullion if you buy from Regs and 3,190 Gold Bullion if you buy from Minerva.
On top of the plans for the pieces, you will need to buy the plans for your favorite mods too.
Is the Servicer Service Armor Worth it?
Yes, the Secret Service Armor set is worth the grind and the resources to craft the pieces. The set was introduced in the Wasterlander’s Update in 2020. Since then, it has been the best Armor in Fallout 76 in terms of protection, flexibility, and availability. For a new player getting the Gold Bullion will take a while, but is the strongest armor set available.
Can I use Outfilts while Wearing the Secret Service Armor?
Yes, you can wear outfits and other apparel on top of the Secret Service Armor. This will hide the Secret Service Armor pieces completely.
Is the Secret Service Underarmor good in Fo76?
The Secret Service Underarmor is the best Underarmor in Fallout 76 in terms of protection. Modded with Shielded Lining (the best available mod) it provides:
- +15 Damage Resistance
- +15 Energy Resistance
- +15 Radiation Resistance
- +4 Strength
- +2 Perception
- +4 Endurance
Plan: Secret Service Underarmor and Plan: Shielded Lining Secret Service Underarmor can be bought for Gold Bullion from Regs in Vault 79. Underarmor costs 250 and the Shielded Lining 200 Gold Bullion.
The plans can also be part of Minerva’s inventory.
Important: You do not need to learn the other linings to learn the Shielded Lining. So don’t waste your Gold Bullion on the other plans.
There are some special use cases, where other Underarmors shine. E.g. for fast leveling in Fallout 76, you’d want to use a Casual Underarmor with a Shielded Lining. But if you don’t have a very specific use case, the Secret Service Underamor is generally the best Underarmor you can wear.
