The Purdue football team will look to keep the Cannon Trophy during Homecoming today in a matchup with Illinois at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Ryan Walters gets a win against his former team. On top of that, Walters gets his first win at home as head coach of Purdue.

Hudson Card threw 2 touchdowns and completed 18 of 26 passes for 217 yards. Tyrone Tracy Jr. ran for 112 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown. Deion Burks caught 5 passes for 83 yards and a score.

On defense, Sanoussi Kane led the way with 9 total tackles. Yanni Karlaftis was second on the team with 8.

The Boilermakers took over at their own 33-yard line but they moved the ball quickly on this drive. A face mask penalty on 1st and 10 moved the ball to midfield, and then Hudson Card threw a pass to Deion Burks, who made a heck of a catch to give Purdue the ball at the 6-yard line. Burks catch was for 44 yards.

Devin Mockobee punched in a 3-yard run to extend Purdue's lead.
